Instructions
- Fill the sprouter with tap water up to the bottom of the grid.
- Sprinkle a thin layer of seeds evenly and with a little space between them on the grid.
- Place the sprouter at room temperature, in a bright spot, but not in direct sunlight.
- Check the water level daily and top it up to the grid if necessary. As long as the seeds do not yet have sprout roots, they must remain moist but not soaked.
After six days, the seeds will be attached to the grid with their sprout roots, and you can change the cloudy water.
Continue to check the water level daily. The sprout roots should be in the water, but keep the sprouts dry. This reduces the risk of mold problems.
Many seed husks grow with the plants. They are edible, but you can also gently rinse the plants in a bowl of water to remove the seed husks.
Chinese chives grow slowly. After 2 to 3 weeks, the sprouts will be 6 to 7 cm long and can be harvested. Cut them with scissors just above the grid.
