Feeding advice

  • To replace the basic roughage ration: 1.2 to 1.5 kg per 100 kg body weight daily
  • As a quality supplement to the basic roughage ration: the amount should be adjusted to the amount of the basic ration: 1kg Timothy cubes replaces 1kg hay
  • As a supplement to concentrated feed: 200g Timothy cubes per 100kg body weight

The amount of feed should be adjusted according to the age and daily energy requirements of your horse or pony.

Timothy cubes contain no added vitamins or minerals. Therefore, it may be advisable to add a Balancer to the feed.

Special recommendations:

Pour 1 to 2 parts water over 1 part feed and let it soak for 15 minutes before feeding. This prevents the risk of choke in horses that do not chew their food sufficiently, in horses with poor teeth, and in horses that eat their food too quickly, leading to insufficient saliva production. When the feed is moistened, the stems and leaf parts reabsorb water, and the palatability of the feed also increases.

Always provide sufficient clean drinking water at the feeding station.
