Aubyose is extremely suitable as a ground cover for horses, rodents, birds, chickens or reptiles. Aubiose absorbs 12 times more moisture than straw and four times more than wood shavings. In addition, it has the property of retaining odors and is absolutely not dusty.
Aubyose comes from the inside of the hemp stalk, which means it has no sharp points and is soft in texture. It has a consistent quality and is available all year round.
Aubyose hemp fiber is a hemp product that quickly breaks down into a fertile humus, creating only a minimal amount of manure volume.
Instructions for use
For horses, Aubiose is a completely different stable bedding than the usual wood shavings or straw. With Aubiose, you make a stable bedding for a period of about 3 months, based on a pot stall principle. Below is a brief explanation of the use of Aubiose:
- Start with a clean stable. Five bales of Aubiose create the basis for a box of about 10m2.
- The stable bed is built up from 3 layers of Aubiose. A 10-litre watering can of water is added to the first layer for every 2 bales of Aubiose. Your stable will not get wet from this. This is repeated for the second layer.
- Horses will not normally eat Aubiose, but given the inquisitive nature of horses and the natural structure of Aubiose we recommend adding 1 litre of kitchen vinegar when applying the final layer.
- Remove the manure balls every day and rake the stable bed flat. Aubiose works well as a "pot stable". Disturb the stable bed as little as possible so that the bed retains its shape, less ammonia odor is released and insects decrease.
- Sprinkle Aubiose as needed, normally 1 bale every ten days.
- In a wet spot, you can rake the loose Aubiose to the side and remove it, and sprinkle new Aubiose over it.
- Make sure your horse has sufficient roughage available.
