Soothes. Calms. Restores.

Does your horse suffer from sensitive, dry, or itchy skin? Skincalmin Relief Lotion offers immediate relief and supports the skin's natural healing process. The light, quickly absorbed formula is specially designed to provide daily comfort – without leaving a greasy residue.

  • Instant relief from itching, redness and irritation.
  • Hydrating and caring for soft, supple skin.
  • Soothing ingredients support the natural recovery process.
  • Suitable for sensitive skin types and daily use.

Use for summer fever

Apply the lotion liberally to problem areas. The handy spout makes it easy to apply between the hairs in the mane and tail.

  • Preventative use : Start early in the season to prevent summer fever and chafing. Two to four times a week is usually sufficient.
  • If you experience any symptoms , start applying the product immediately after the first symptoms appear. Starting later is also fine.
  • Intensive use : Apply at least once a day for the first 14 days, preferably twice a day – before going outside and when putting the dog in the stable.
  • Maintenance : As soon as the skin becomes calmer and recovers, reduce to 3–4 times per week, and later possibly to 1–2 times per week.
  • Relapse : if the itching increases, for example on warm, windless days, temporarily increase the frequency again.

The lotion has an immediate calming effect, supports natural healing, and is very mild – suitable even for the most sensitive skin. Always test the lotion on a single spot before applying it to all problem areas when using it for the first time. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

Practical and safe : the lotion is gentle on the skin, easy to use and no gloves are required when applying it.

Combine with a summer blanket
If your horse normally wears a summer blanket, you can try the lotion with the blanket first. Once you notice the skin has calmed down, you can try leaving the blanket off for a day. If that goes well, try leaving it off for a few days, and so on. Of course, you can also start right away without the blanket. You'll have to judge this for yourself.

Spray your horse daily with Skincalmin Neutralizing spray to neutralize body odor.

Instructions for use when grating

  • Let mites be ruled out
Itching and scabs on the lower legs can be caused by a mite infestation. Therefore, always consult a veterinarian first. If mites are diagnosed, the vet will recommend washing the legs with a special anti-mite shampoo. Only after mites have been ruled out or treated should you start using Skincalmin Relief Lotion.
  • Applying the lotion
Trim or shave some hair if necessary. Apply the lotion liberally to your skin daily and massage in well.
  • Removing scabs
Once scabs fall off on their own, you can carefully remove them. Don't pull off any scabs that are still attached to prevent new wounds.
  • Treatment duration
Repeat the treatment daily until all scabs have disappeared.
  • Maintenance
To prevent new spots, treat the skin with the lotion once every 3–14 days.

Underlying causes
The development of shavings can be related to reduced immunity, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, or a buildup of waste products in the body. In lean breeds, a diet high in starch and sugar can exacerbate the symptoms. Therefore, don't just treat shavings externally; also critically review your horse's diet.

👉 If in doubt or if the symptoms worsen, always consult a veterinarian.
