Yellow millet is eaten by all bird species and certainly during breeding, panicle millet is a real boon, because the seeds of the millet are soft and easy to peel for young birds. In this way, they immediately learn to peel seeds and therefore switch more easily to the hard seeds once the beaks of the young are properly hardened.
