Nutritional advice
Feed Vitalbix PsylliumMash (preventively) as a treatment to support the removal of sand in the intestines.
As a preventive sand cure:
100 grams of mash per 100 kg body weight, once a day.
1 bag = 2 treatments (approx. 12 days)
If sand is found in the manure:
200 grams of mash per 100 kg body weight, once a day.
1 bag = 1 treatment (approx. 6 days)
Repeat the treatment if necessary in consultation with your veterinarian.
If you notice a lot of sand in the manure:
200 grams of mash per 100 kg body weight, twice a day.
2 bags = 1 treatment
Repeat the treatment if necessary in consultation with your veterinarian.
Mix PsylliumMash with 1 to 3 parts water for a firmer mash and with 4 parts water for a very thin mash. You can vary this, depending on what your horse likes!
- Use cold or warm, not boiling.
- Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, stir and feed immediately!
- Not suitable for long standing after preparation. The seeds swell and you want this to happen in the intestines at the right time.
- To ensure proper functioning, do not mix with other Vitalbix products, supplements or medications.
- Always consult your veterinarian first about medication.
Tip!
Check the manure regularly for sand by putting some manure in a transparent plastic bag/glove together with water. Do you notice a lot of sand in the manure or does your horse have colic-like symptoms? Always contact your vet immediately.
Vitalbix PsylliumMash supports the removal of sand in the intestines but is not a miracle cure. Preventing the absorption of (too much) sand remains important, even when feeding a product with psyllium.
